Kittens in the Kitchen

This post is going to be a bit photo heavy, but since it is my first session to post here…..stop complaining! I wanted to start with a bang! So today, Julia Rinkles (this is not her real name, but for privacy reasons due to her somewhat skimpy outfit we should protect her identity) is going to teach us how to bake a cake.

Everyone knows the first step in baking is to find a recipe that makes our tummies rumble…

Sometimes this can be tricky and requires assistance…

Once a recipe has been decided upon, check your pantry for all the needed ingredients. It is advised that you toss your brothers out of the kitchen at this point due to the horrible messes they create!

By the way, hats are fun!

Especially if you can hide in them and play peek-a-boo!

Bake-6

Enough playtime! Let’s get to work! Start by mixing your dry ingredients…

Are you sure it is mixed? Mix it just a bit more….

Now let’s start mixing in the wet ingredients, and don’t worry about the oil….Sphynx brand oil is the best!

After baking, keep an eye out! Because naughty brothers will sneak in to steal your treat!

Things can get a bit messy….but that just means it is extra tasty!

Yum yum!

For inquiring minds- These images were shot in studio, using three Alien Bee Flash units (lights). Images were taken with my Nikon D810 and Sigma 35 1.4 Art. The settings were- f/7.1, Shutter 1/125, and ISO-100. Edited in Photoshop with mostly hand edits, although I did use a couple actions from Chasing Light Action’s Chemistry Set

I used a piece of clear plexi over the floor drop to prevent permanent damage. The backdrops used are called Polylite and are from LemonDrop Stop and are shown HERE and HERE.

About The Author

Brittney

Hi! I am Brittney Gobble, and I have been an animal lover since I was able to crawl after a cute puppy or kitten. When I was about 6 I told my mom I was going to be “rich” one day. When she asked what did “rich” mean, I quickly responded “It means I can have lots of pets!”. I suppose I have achieved that dream…. I married my veterinarian (and love of my life) in 2006 and now breed and show top quality Sphynx cats. I have three beautiful kids and many “four legged” family members running around. A couple of years ago I picked up a camera to begin photographing my kittens, and from there my love of photography has grown. There is nothing that I love more then capturing the “look” in an animal’s eye that truly shows their personality.

I love the pics and the background is wonderful. The close-up of that sweet kitty face with just a trace of crumbs is priceless and the detail you captured is amazing. Thank you for posting your camera settings an links!

I absolutely love your photography. I have 5 cats and it’s so hard to get a good picture as they either run away or change position just as I try to take the picture. You are very talented.
